Do a simple Google search to find your town’s Movie in the Park line-up. If nothing is coming up, try hosting your own! We recently bought this screen and projector as an investment for movies in the back yard for years to come.

Write a List of Gratitude

Mark your moments as a family this season by writing out what you’re most thankful for. Keep an eye out for even the little things - the way the leaves crunch under your feet, the cool air in the morning, the way your kids laugh while carving pumpkins. Try making this a dinner time activity and let the kids get involved.

Pumpkin picking

Is there anything more quintessential? Find a pumpkin patch at a nearby church, which often sell pumpkins as a fundraiser for local charities, or make the trek to a local farm’s fall fest.

Pumpkin carving

Make a day of pumpkin picking by finishing it off with carving. Use our Jack-o-lantern Pinterest board for carving inspiration.

Family photos

Make a yearly tradition of taking family photos - you won’t regret it years down the road. Hire a photographer or set up your camera or phone on a tripod and do it yourself.

Bake a pie

Use fresh fall produce to bake a pie with the family. Be sure to write down the recipe you use and make it a yearly staple. If you have never baked a pie there are so many easy recipes and so many fun pie plates on amazon.

S’mores / firepit

Pull out your fire pit in the backyard, invite the neighbors over, grab your marshmallow sticks and make S’mores. This makes for a great opportunity to teach your kids about fire safety, too. Another fun way to make s’mores is with this super fun indoor table top fire pit we found!

Go camping

Fall is the perfect season to go camping. We wait for fall camping trips all summer long! Grab your tent and find a beautiful National Park or camping spot near you & soak in the season with the kids.

Make caramel apples

Take the family apple picking and put your extra produce to use by making caramel apples for an evening dessert. Keep it simple or provide toppings to roll them in.

Corn maze

While not everyone has the World’s Largest Corn Maze in their neck of the woods chances are you will be able to find a corn maze large enough to keep you entertained. These fun mazes are often found at local farms where many other activities are offered, as well.

Make pine cone bird feeders

Go on a fall hike to collect pine cones for this fun fall craft - pine cone bird feeders. Roll the pinecones in peanut butter and sprinkle with bird seeds. Add string and hang from your front or back yard tree.
